Most sites that promise cash prizes either require an entry fee, push you toward "premium" upgrades, or bury the real cost somewhere in their terms of service. Potly.Win doesn't work that way. You sign up with an email, pick a game, and compete. That's it. There is no paid tier, no boost you can buy, no advantage for spending money. Every player on the leaderboard started the month with the exact same zero-score and the exact same tools.
The reason we can do this is simple โ the prize pool isn't funded by you, it's funded by ads. Every time someone plays one of our games, the ads around the game generate a small amount of revenue. 80% of that revenue flows directly into the prize pool for that game, and the top 3 players at the end of each month split it. It's a straightforward model that aligns everyone's incentives: the more people play, the bigger the prizes get.
Potly.Win is legally a skill-based contest, not a gambling platform. The distinction matters. In gambling, outcomes depend on chance โ a slot machine decides if you win. On Potly.Win, outcomes depend on you. The pipes in Wing Rush come at the same speed and in the same patterns for every player. The crane in Sky Rise swings with the same physics for everyone. There is no random modifier, no hidden house edge, no roll of the dice. If you score higher than other players this month, you win because you played better.
This is also the legal reason skill-based contests funded by advertising, with no entry fee, can operate without the age-18+ platform restrictions that gambling sites require. Prize eligibility does require players to be 18+, and US winners earning over $600 in a year have standard tax reporting obligations โ but the platform itself sits in a completely different category from any form of gambling.
We publish exactly how the money flows. 80% of ad revenue goes to the prize pool. 20% covers platform costs โ hosting, payment processing, anti-cheat systems, email infrastructure, and ongoing game development. Top 3 players split each prize pool: 50% / 30% / 20%. Payouts go out via PayPal by the 15th of the following month. The math is the same for every game, every month, and every player. For the full breakdown of how prize pools are calculated, read How Ad-Funded Prize Pools Work.
Every game session is validated server-side. Scores are signed with per-session keys, game events are logged with timestamps, and statistical outliers are flagged for manual review. We'd rather have a small community of real players than a big community of bots. Cheating gets you banned. Playing fair gets you paid โ every dollar promised in the prize pool goes out via PayPal by the 15th of the following month, with no exceptions and no hidden fees.
Is this really free? What's the catch?
Yes, genuinely free. No entry fee, no subscription, no in-app purchases, no "premium" tier. Prize pools are funded entirely by ads shown on the platform. The only "cost" to playing is watching the ads โ which is also what generates the money you're competing for.
Is this gambling?
No. Gambling legally requires three elements together: consideration (you pay to play), chance (outcomes are random), and prize. Potly.Win has no consideration โ there's no entry fee โ and outcomes depend entirely on skill, not chance. That's what makes it a legally compliant skill-based contest, not gambling.
How do I get paid if I win?
Via PayPal. Link your PayPal email in your account settings after you sign up. Payouts for the previous month's winners are processed by the 15th of the following month. Minimum payout is $5 โ anything below that rolls over to the next month automatically.
What stops people from cheating?
Server-side score validation, per-session signing keys, game event logging, and statistical outlier detection. Every flagged session is manually reviewed before payouts are generated. Cheating results in a permanent ban and forfeit of any winnings. Fair play is taken seriously because it's the foundation of the platform.
Who can play?
Anyone 13+ can play and compete on the leaderboards. Winners must be 18+ to receive payouts. Potly.Win is open internationally, though players are responsible for knowing their local laws. US winners earning over $600 in a calendar year will need to complete a W-9 for standard tax reporting.
